Medical & Legal Disclaimer
1. Nature of services
PUNTOS de Salud, located at Gilabert de Centelles 19, 5th floor, 07005 Palma de Mallorca, Spain, provides Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) services, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion, auricular therapy, cupping and nutritional guidance from a TCM perspective.
These services constitute complementary therapies within the meaning of Decree 55/2010 of the Govern de les Illes Balears regulating natural therapies, and applicable Spanish health regulations. They are not recognised as medical specialties by the Spanish Ministry of Health and do not form part of the National Health System's service portfolio.
2. Not a substitute for medical treatment
The services provided at PUNTOS de Salud do not replace in any way the diagnosis, treatment, prescription or follow-up care of a physician or any other legally registered healthcare professional. No content on this website, nor any evaluation or treatment offered at the clinic, should be interpreted as a medical diagnosis.
If you experience any symptom, discomfort or health concern, you should consult your physician or attend the relevant emergency services. Beginning a treatment plan at PUNTOS de Salud does not exempt you from maintaining any conventional medical follow-up you may require.
3. Clinical conditions addressed: scope and limitations
The health conditions referred to on this website reflect areas in which Traditional Chinese Medicine is commonly used as a complementary therapy, in accordance with the World Health Organisation's (WHO) indication classifications. Their mention does not imply:
Any guarantee of therapeutic outcome.
Medical diagnosis of the conditions described.
Replacement of any prescribed medical treatment.
Clinical equivalence with treatments of proven efficacy under evidence-based medicine criteria.
Individual results vary depending on constitution, clinical history, adherence to the treatment plan, and other factors specific to each person.
4. Fertility, pregnancy and reproductive health
Patients seeking TCM support in the context of fertility, assisted reproductive treatments (IVF, IUI or other), pregnancy or the postpartum period should note the following:
TCM treatment in these contexts is always complementary to the care provided by your gynaecologist, obstetrician or reproductive medicine specialist, and never a substitute for it.
Before commencing treatment, the patient must inform the practitioner of their complete medical situation, current medication, and the name of the fertility clinic or maternity hospital managing their care.
Moxibustion for breech presentation correction and pre-labour preparation protocols are only carried out when there is explicit authorisation from the obstetric team.
In cases of high-risk pregnancy, active bleeding, placenta praevia or other obstetric complications, the practitioner may decline to treat or require a prior medical report.
TCM support cannot prevent or guarantee the prevention of miscarriage, gestational complications or specific IVF outcomes.
5. Clinical herbal medicine
Classical Chinese herbal formulas prescribed at this clinic are internal preparations made from controlled-origin plant materials. Before commencing any herbal formula, the patient must inform the practitioner of:
Any current prescription medication, particularly anticoagulants, immunosuppressants, anticonvulsants or hormonal drugs.
Diagnosed hepatic or renal insufficiency.
Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Known allergies to plants or plant-derived substances.
Clinical Chinese herbal medicine is distinct from food supplements and should not be confused with over-the-counter herbal products. Formulas are prescribed on an individual basis and are not intended for self-medication.
6. Website content
The content on this website, including articles, condition descriptions and explanations about Traditional Chinese Medicine, is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis or a treatment proposal for any specific individual.
Some statements regarding TCM are based on clinical tradition and preliminary studies that do not always meet the level of scientific evidence required by western conventional medicine standards. PUNTOS de Salud is committed to highlighting this distinction where relevant.
7. Liability and limitation
The practitioner at PUNTOS de Salud acts with due professional diligence and within the scope of competencies as a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner. Notwithstanding this, PUNTOS de Salud does not accept liability for:
Decisions made by the patient based on website content without prior medical consultation.
The abandonment or modification of treatments prescribed by a licensed healthcare professional.
Individual therapeutic outcomes, which depend on factors outside the practitioner's control.
Interactions between herbal medicine and medication not disclosed by the patient.
